The Sport Relief Mile event

British Embassy Zagreb staff would like to invite friends and colleagues to join them in this year's Sport Relief Mile run on Sunday, 21 March 2010 at Zagreb's Bundek Park. The Sport Relief Mile event, a part of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office's See Britain through my eyes campaign, will be used to raise funds for the Croatian charity, KRILA (www.krila.hr), which assists children with development difficulties and the physically-challenged by offering them therapy through horse riding lessons.  We will run to support efforts in raising funds for KRILA, with which the Embassy has a good relationship.

In the run-up to the 2012 Olympic Games in London we would like to draw attention to the Olympic creed which reads: "The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well."  Therefore it is not important whether you run, jog or walk  the mile but that you do the Mile!

FCO posts around the world will take place in this year's Sport Relief Mile (http://www.sportrelief.com/) over the upcoming weekend by running, walking or cycling a mile or three (or six!).

The one mile run at Bundek Park will start at 11:00 this Sunday, 21 March 2010, so put your running shoes on, do your stretches and come out and support KRILA and the children.

THERAPEUTIC RIDING SEASON AUTUMN/WINTER STARTS SEPTEMBER THE 3RD 2007

According to the existing timetable, we are continuing the therapeutic horseback riding lessons.

We are kindly asking the parents of our riders whose children are going to school, and who used to come in shifts, to give us their new timetables for this school year. That way we can update our timetables accordingly.

VOLUNTEERS GATHERING

We are inviting all the old and the new volunteers to join us on 25th of August 2007 at 10 a.m. on our premises. The motive of this gathering is beginning of the new season. The old volunteers will refresh their knowledge and the new ones are going to get to know Krila and its work. For this reason we will hold a training session of therapeutic riding for disabled.
